Position Responsibilities

As a Logistics and Relocation Specialist, you will be responsible for the removals, relocations, and installations of laboratory, IT, and office furnishings, as well as other items to new locations or storage facilities.
You will work in teams of varying sizes, which may include weekend and evening shifts as required.
Our Laboratory Logistics team operates throughout the UK and Europe; possessing a valid passport allows for opportunities to work across Europe.

This position is offered on a zero-hours contract basis.

Key Duties

  • Retrieve move orders from operations and adhere to provided instructions.
  • Execute all removals, relocations, and installations related to furniture, IT equipment, and laboratory apparatus.
  • Follow delivery plans as directed by the JLL Operations Manager, Delivery Manager, and Supervisor.
  • Maintain the furniture warehouse, ensuring it remains organized and tidy.
  • Manage recycling efforts for wood, metal, and general waste.
  • Report completed tasks to the delivery manager promptly.
  • Handle goods entering or exiting storage.
  • Participate in large-scale projects, such as relocating hospital, library, or educational equipment.
  • Specialize in the handling of fine art and delicate furniture.
  • Complete all necessary JLL training.
  • Keep all accreditations current.
  • Monitor and document all vehicle mileage for business-as-usual operations.
  • Provide project helpline support from day one.
  • Assist with charitable donations as needed.
  • Adhere to site rules and regulations.
  • Safely package items prior to removal or storage.
  • Wrap and protect furniture using specialized materials for shipping.
  • As a specialist packer, ensure delicate items are properly wrapped and packed, utilizing protective packaging for fragile equipment.
  • Dismantle larger furniture items for packing and removal.
  • Remove doors, frames, or windows to facilitate the movement of large furniture pieces.
  • Pack items, load them into vehicles, and secure them for transport, ensuring all goods are secure before departure.
  • Drive to new locations, unload items, reassemble larger pieces, and position them according to customer specifications.
  • Unwrap furniture and unpack cartons upon delivery.
  • Handle packing of cold chain materials as required.


Qualifications

Working Hours: Flexible, with work scheduled as needed.

Long-distance moves may require overnight stays in accommodations or vehicles.

Preferred candidates will hold a valid driving license.

Experience in removals or a similar role is advantageous.

CompensationDaily rates range from £105 to £110, contingent upon driving license and experience.
