We are seeking an experienced and skilled Logistics Porter to join our team at Johnsons 1871 Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient relocation of laboratory and IT equipment, furniture, and other items to new premises or via storage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve and execute move orders as instructed by the operations team.
  • Complete all removals, relocations, and installations for furniture moves, IT relocations, laboratory equipment, or fine art.
  • Follow delivery plans from JLL Ops Manager, Assistant Ops Manager, and Supervisors.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized warehouse environment.
  • Fill recycling skips for wood, metal, and general waste.
  • Report all completed jobs to the management team in a timely manner.
  • Taking goods into and out of storage.
  • Participate in large specialist projects, such as moving hospital library or school equipment.
  • Complete all necessary JLL training.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and record all BAU vehicle mileage.
  • Follow site rules and regulations.
  • Safely package items before removal or storage.
  • Wrap and protect furniture or delicate items for shipping/transport.
  • Taking apart larger items of furniture for packing and removal.
  • Removing doors, door frames, or windows to facilitate large piece movement.
  • Packing items, loading them into your vehicle, and securing them safely.
  • Verifying goods are secure before driving off.
  • Driving to the new location, unloading items, reassembling large items, and placing them as per customer requirements.
  • Unwrapping furniture and unpacking cartons.
  • Packing Cold Chain Materials.

This is a flexible contract role, with shifts determined by operational needs. If you hold a valid passport, you may have the opportunity to work across Europe.

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and overnight stays.
  • Driving Licence holders preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and experience in removals or similar roles.
Schedule:
  • 10 hour shifts.
  • Day shifts.
  • Holidays.
