The Role

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a driven and committed Financial Operations Analyst to join our finance department.

This role is tailored for individuals eager to advance their careers in finance and acquire significant experience in the professional services sector. As a Financial Operations Analyst, you will assist the finance team in various financial functions, leveraging your training and skills to aid in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.

You will play a vital role in delivering timely and precise financial data to support strategic business decisions, ensuring compliance with financial standards while continuing your professional journey towards full qualification. Initially, your focus will be on commercial finance, but there may be opportunities to rotate into different finance teams, allowing you to gain insights into diverse business challenges and accounting practices, including management accounting and technical finance.

Key Responsibilities:

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts by gathering data and preparing analytical reports. Financial Analysis: Perform fundamental financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Supporting Senior Accountants: Collaborate with senior finance professionals on various tasks and projects. Professional Growth: Continue your journey towards obtaining full accounting qualifications through study and exam preparation. Financial Reporting: Aid in the creation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Record Keeping: Ensure accurate financial records by documenting transactions and updating accounts payable and receivable. Audit Support: Assist in audit processes by providing necessary documentation and clarifications regarding financial activities. Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies, regulations, and legal requirements. Reconciliation: Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between financial records and bank statements.

Desired Qualifications:

Part-qualified Accountant (CIMA or equivalent), with a commitment to achieving full qualification. Relevant educational background in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Experience in a financial role. Understanding of financial principles and practices. Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel. Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or similar tools is a strong advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Attention to detail and precision in financial tasks. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. A willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace new challenges.
