Job Summary
Northern Marine is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will provide critical support to our Fleet Managers and Superintendents to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Fleet Managers and Superintendents in monitoring vessels to ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain planned maintenance systems to prevent equipment failures.
- Inspect and review logbooks, abstracts, and periodic returns to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and submit reports to Fleet Managers, Fleet Directors, and clients on periodic ship visits, inspections, and drills.
- Maintain technical files and develop technical bulletins to support safe and efficient vessel operations.
- Coordinate and monitor the provision of services required for ship operation, including port services, agents, bunkering, storing, surveys, and contracting services.
- Assist in preparing annual operating cost budgets and verifying quotations for spares, supplies, and services.
- Perform other duties as required by senior management.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Fully completed cadetship or equivalent qualification.
- Degree in Quality or related discipline.
- 3 Highers or Diploma or equivalent in a related discipline.
- Good organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
- Proven ability to work to targets and deadlines.
