About the Role:

As a Senior Buyer at Pilgrim's Europe, you will play a key role in driving the company's procurement strategy across various categories, including IT, Marketing, Agriculture, and others. Your primary responsibility will be to manage purchasing across these categories, ensuring best value and minimizing risk. You will work closely with operational leads to deliver strategic roadmaps and drive change across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect categories
  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts for smaller suppliers
  • Develop and maintain a supplier assessment program to drive improvements in supplier performance
  • Develop and manage supplier contracts for major areas of spend
  • Identify cost savings through spend analysis and benchmarking/tender processes
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand and define business requirements and deliver value-adding projects
  • Deputize for manager when required
  • Maintain SAP contracts, sourcing, and pricing in conjunction with team support


Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a procurement department
  • Hold a driving license and be flexible to travel as required
  • Interested in improving sustainability within the supply base
  • Recent experience in managing a range of suppliers and categories
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Effective communication, influencing, and teamwork skills
  • Proven cost savings across a range of categories
  • Proven project management and implementation skills
  • Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve
  • Proficient in supplier benchmarking and tender process
  • Strong IT understanding
