Junior Utility Surveyor
A Utility Surveyor plays a crucial role in identifying the position and pathway of underground utilities, including water, drainage, gas, electricity, and telecommunications. This vital information assists designers and architects in planning new infrastructure, such as buildings, railways, or roadways, and aids construction firms in minimizing the risk of damaging underground cables or pipes during excavation.
At 40Seven Limited, we employ a range of techniques and technologies to conduct utility surveys effectively.
We offer a robust and thorough training program for aspiring surveyors, enabling you to become a fully qualified surveyor within a year of commencing your training with us. Our training is hands-on, ensuring that from your first week, you will be working on-site alongside your mentor.
We seek individuals who are eager to learn and grow in this field. No specific work experience or background is necessary; we are open to training candidates seeking a career transition or those entering the job market for the first time. However, the following personal qualities are essential:
- A meticulous, detail-oriented, and thorough work ethic
- A solid understanding of mathematics (preferably above a Grade C / 4 at GCSE level or equivalent) and practical experience using math in a work setting
- A genuine enthusiasm for outdoor work, regardless of weather conditions, in diverse locations
- A valid driving license
Successful candidates must be prepared to travel away from home during the week and be available for night or evening shifts as required.
This position offers a diverse range of working environments and tasks. While the role is primarily site-based, some office work is also involved. Office tasks are typically conducted at our locations when collaborating with others or during training, but can also be completed remotely when collaboration is not necessary.
Our operations span across the UK, so occasional overnight stays are part of the job. Depending on your office location, your work will predominantly be in specific regions.
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Enhanced employer contributory pension scheme
- Enhanced life assurance scheme
- 25 days of holiday allowance
- Discounts for shopping, gym, and cinema
- Salary sacrifice cycle scheme
- Referral bonus scheme
- Favorable absence pay scheme
- Awards for celebrating success
Additionally, we are committed to supporting and encouraging your professional development to help you reach your full potential.
We are an Equal Opportunities Employer.
