**Job Summary**

The Industrial Chemistry Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of work from Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium deposits, as well as chromate treatment, chemical film, passivate, and nital etch. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques and plating solutions, as well as experience with quality control and assurance.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Work with plating technicians to ensure quality of work from Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium deposits
  • Implement and update Internal Quality System and Internal Laboratory Management System
  • Responsible for covering analyst in performing Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium solution analysis
  • Responsible for covering chemist in performing physical testing on test coupons as required by specification, hydrogen detection instrument test, and all other tests required by specifications on the other pre and post plating baths
  • Analyze and optimize existing processes to improve overall quality, efficiency, and cost, and reduce waste through forward thinking
  • Control and sample effluent waste and ensure up-to-date records are maintained at all times
  • Maintain all supplies required to perform testing of the baths
  • Implement a quality audit program to regularly gauge compliance with all maintenance procedures

**Requirements**

  • Industrial chemist with an appropriate degree in chemistry or chemical engineering, or experienced in chemistry and plating techniques
  • Experience with laboratory techniques and working knowledge of plating solutions, Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of health and safety and environment requirements at work, experience of storage and control of hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of COMAH and its requirements is desirable
  • Team player with proven ability to manage, lead, and provide guidance
  • The job is primarily a weekday job starting 6:30 to 14:30, with flexibility required to cover and interact with different shifts and sections of LTLGS
  • Potential travel required
  • Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted
  • Mandatory training will be required
