About Our Engineering Team

At Policy Expert, our Payments team is at the forefront of financial technology and innovation in the insurance sector. We manage all aspects of card and bank account payments within our insurance website, focusing on creating secure, efficient, and user-friendly payment solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive our company's success in the market.

Our Approach

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine our Java-based backend systems, dealing with intricate payment processing challenges.
  • Engage in light front-end development with TypeScript and React for our microfrontends and backend Lambda services.
  • Work with containerised applications using Amazon ECS on AWS Fargate.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in Java backend development, along with an understanding of its ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in writing high-quality unit tests, acceptance tests, and other forms of automated tests.
  • Experience or willingness to adapt to continuous deployment and daily production deployments.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript and React.
  • Prior experience in the insurance or financial sector.
