Role Overview: This position serves as the primary communication link for the site during emergency situations and involves the routine monitoring of all safety and security systems, including car parks and public areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Systematically monitor CCTV to safeguard the well-being of the public, staff, and contractors.
  • Manage communications via the FM Radio System.
  • Oversee all life safety systems, including fire alarms and intruder detection systems.
  • Initiate necessary actions to protect lives and property, including evacuations and emergency plans.
  • Handle inquiries through intercom and telephone systems with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Control access to designated areas, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and activities in the occurrence log.
  • Supervise contractor activities on-site.
  • Remain vigilant to maintain a secure shopping atmosphere.
  • Effectively manage traffic flow within the premises.
  • Conduct site patrols as needed.
  • Participate in first aid training as required.
  • Perform manual handling tasks within safe limits.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Minimum of GCSE or NVQ level 3 education.
  • Valid SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence.
  • First Aid at Work Certification.
  • SIA Guarding or Door Supervisors licence.

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • Experience in a control room environment.
  • Proficient communication skills over radio systems.
