We are seeking an individual with a solid background in Product Management within the Finance sector to enhance our operations.
Your role will involve contributing to one of the most significant transformations in the UK Civil Service in recent years - The Synergy Programme.
The Synergy Programme encompasses a comprehensive change initiative involving major government departments such as the Ministry of Justice, Department for Work and Pensions, Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Home Office.
Your contributions will influence the procurement strategies for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Process Services over the next 15 years, affecting more than half of the Civil Service workforce - approximately 230,000 individuals across various departments and associated bodies.
Our objective is to ensure we achieve optimal value, efficiency, and speed in delivering essential human resources, finance, payroll, and procurement services.
Your work will have a broad impact, from onboarding new employees to managing expense claims, procurement of goods and services, and processing pensions upon retirement.
Future Shared Services Organisation (FSSO): Your focus will be on conceptualizing and implementing the future framework for our Shared Services offerings.
This role will define the landscape of Shared Services post-Synergy Programme implementation.
Business Process Services (BPS): This position centers on refining the relationship with our Business Process Services provider, emphasizing supplier management and contract experience.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP): You will assist in achieving Finance process integration and the design, testing, and rollout of the new Synergy ERP system and its associated services.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a track record in streamlining procurement processes to eliminate errors, waste, and redundancy, alongside strong stakeholder management and change management skills.
Your qualifications and expertise
- A robust Finance background with a comprehensive understanding of the interconnections among various Finance processes and their design and delivery.
- Proven experience in managing or collaborating with ERP systems, with a solid grasp of how finance master data supports cross-functional services and reporting, particularly with platforms like Oracle eBusiness Suite.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing multiple end-to-end finance services (e.g., Record to Report, Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, Cash Management, Project Accounting, Grants Management, and Tax).
- Ability to collaborate with analytical teams to interpret complex and conflicting data, drawing conclusions at both tactical and strategic levels.
- Experience in effectively managing and transforming complex ERP processes and fostering vendor relationships.
- Background in scoping, designing, and executing complex change and transition initiatives across multiple organizations.
- Knowledge of the Cloud ERP landscape and capabilities, with experience leading Cloud Finance Design and/or large-scale Transformation from initial evidence gathering to implementation and live operations.
- Experience in complex and iterative planning & scheduling, resource modeling, risk management, and reporting across multidisciplinary teams.
- Salary range from £52,412 to £67,492.
- Civil Service Pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, potentially worth up to £19,552 annually.
- Annual leave starting at 26 days, increasing to 31, in addition to standard bank holidays.
