Saw Operator

As a Saw Operative at Barrett Steel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer orders are fulfilled to the highest standards in a fast-paced environment. The shift hours are rotating, Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2 pm, and then Monday to Friday, 2 pm to 10 pm.
Key Responsibilities- Loading, cutting (Saws), and offloading of steel
- Picking computer-generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large items
- Ensuring all documentation is correctly actioned for accuracy of stock
- Transferring stock to its location using a Forklift truck
- Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers' orders
- Keeping work areas clean and tidy, maintaining high levels of Health and Safety
- Being adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements
- Operating machinery (only when trained to do so)
- Performing any ad hoc duties as required in the role
We are looking for a passionate, driven, and confident individual who can work collaboratively within the business in a creative way. The successful candidate will have experience as a Saw Operative, ideally gained in the steel industry or heavy industry experience.
Essential Skills- Experience as a Saw Operative, ideally in the steel industry or heavy industry
- Flexible attitude, results-oriented, and team player
- Bandsaw/Side-Loader/Fork-Lift experience desirable, with training provided
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety
- Ideal candidate will have a Driving License
