Our Care home is based in Willenhall, West Midlands. This cosy nursing home offers a warm and friendly atmosphere for both the residents and the staff. The dedicated team of staff provide high quality nursing care to the elderly and residents with dementia. The home is ideally located near Wolverhampton/ Walsall and is close to public transport links.

Maintenance Responsibilities.
- General day to day maintenance of the home and basic repairs including household electrical, plumbing joinery, decorating and building tasks both inside and outside the home including garden and grounds maintenance
- Responsible for specific Health and Safety duties with regard to safeguard systems including: weekly checks on water temperature, weekly checks on fire alarms and monthly checks on emergency lighting systems and fire exits/firefighting equipment.
- Being accountable for safety and cleanliness within the care home and grounds is to the satisfaction of Environmental Health, local Fire Authority requirements and Health & Safety regulations etc
- Advising on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
- Ensuring supplies and equipment are stored in a safe and tidy manner.
- Providing out of hours emergency service, participating in the on call rota.
- Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Performing preventative maintenance.
- Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
- Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
- Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
- Audit water, fire, wheelchairs, bedrails and mattresses.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all residents, family, visitors and colleagues
Maintenance Requirements.
- Proven maintenance experience.
- Related degree/Diploma from a technical college.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogues as necessary.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
- Experience performing routine maintenance.
- Strong organizational and follow up skills.
- Eye for detail.
- Professional presentation and attitude.
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
- Strong time management skills.
