Job Title: Associate Director of Planning

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director of Planning to join our team at Maxim Recruitment. As a leading construction dispute resolution consultancy, we are seeking an ambitious and experienced professional to lead our planning team and contribute to our growth plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the planning team to deliver high-quality services to our clients.
  • Develop and implement effective planning strategies to support our dispute resolution services.
  • Conduct forensic analysis and provide clear and impartial evidence in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings.
  • Manage and develop the planning team, including training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Control, manage, and report contractual obligations from procurement to final account.
  • Determine schedules, monitor programmes, and understand risks.
  • Write reports that can be used in negotiations and formal dispute resolution procedures, including adjudication, mediation, and litigation.
  • Accurately assess progress and provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a construction project planner.
  • Experience of delay analysis job duties and writing narratives unassisted to a high standard.
  • Pre and post-contract planning experience on large-scale, complex projects.
  • Ability to produce programmes and schedules for live projects and interpret those written by third parties.
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to contribute to reports, including the use of persuasive language.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Ambitious individual looking to buy into the core values of the business and help drive the business forward with its growth plan.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
  • Degree-level education in a construction-related field or similar equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant MSc in engineering and/or Construction Law and Disputes LLM would be a strong advantage.
