Job Title: Associate Director of Planning

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director of Planning to join our team at Maxim Recruitment. As a leading construction dispute resolution consultancy, we are seeking an ambitious and experienced professional to lead our planning team and contribute to our growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of planners to deliver high-quality planning services to our clients.
  • Develop and implement planning strategies to support our clients' projects and resolve disputes.
  • Conduct forensic analysis and provide clear and impartial evidence in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings.
  • Manage and develop the planning team, including training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Control, manage, and report contractual obligations from procurement to final account.
  • Determine schedules, monitor programmes, and understand risks.
  • Write reports that can be used in negotiations as well as formal dispute resolution procedures, including adjudication, mediation, and litigation.
  • Accurate assessments of progress.
  • Partake in business development and help generate work and clients.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a construction project planner.
  • Experience of delay analysis job duties and writing narratives unassisted to a high standard.
  • Pre and post-contract Planning experience on large-scale, complex projects.
  • To be able to produce programmes and schedules for live projects and be able to interpret those written by third parties.
  • Must have exceptional writing skills and able to contribute to reports where necessary, including the use of persuasive language.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • An ambitious individual looking to buy into the core values of the business and help to drive the business forward with its growth plan.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
  • Degree-level education in a construction-related field or similar equivalent qualification is desired.
  • Relevant MSc in engineering and/or Construction Law and Disputes LLM would be a strong advantage.
