Team Overview

Our dedicated Risk Consulting team delivers specialized services across key markets:

  • Public Sector: We offer unique audit and advisory services across multiple domains, including local and central government, healthcare, housing, and charitable organizations.
  • Financial Sector: As one of the largest providers of Risk Assurance services in finance, we collaborate with numerous banks, insurance firms, and asset management companies, including both publicly traded and privately held entities.
  • Industry & Services: Our clientele includes a mix of large multinational corporations and small businesses across various sectors in the UK and internationally.
Role Overview

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver proactive, high-quality, and value-driven advisory, audit, and assurance services related to programmes and projects for our Public Service clients.

This position will mainly involve coordinating and executing a variety of programme and project assurance services to clients, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines. Additionally, you will play a significant role in business development and contribute to the training and growth of the broader team.

Our team has experienced substantial growth recently and is well-positioned for further expansion, offering promising advancement opportunities for successful candidates. You will also be expected to contribute to the overall success of the Risk Consulting service line and assist in its ongoing enhancement.

While current operations are remote, it is anticipated that some on-site work may be required in the future, based on client and business needs.

We will support the successful candidate in their pursuit of a Project Management Qualification.

You will report to the Assistant Manager overseeing Project and Programme Assurance for Public Services within Risk Consulting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support the overall work programme for Programme and Project Assurance for Public Service clients.
  • Plan and conduct fieldwork, including closing meetings with management.
  • Prepare draft reports.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Assist with special assignments as needed.
  • Provide on-the-job training and supervision for junior team members.
  • Organize tasks and responsibilities based on the needs and skills of those under supervision.
  • Manage assignments from planning to the preparation of draft reports within agreed timelines.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, addressing any issues or requests promptly.
  • Maintain composure under pressure while recognizing deadlines.
  • Respond effectively to the needs of clients and team members.
  • Deliver clear and confident presentations of service features and benefits to clients.
  • Ensure services provided are genuinely suitable for the client.
  • Identify opportunities for new work.
  • Uphold standards and procedures maintained by the entire team.
  • Provide constructive feedback for team member performance evaluations.
  • Produce high-quality work in line with the Firm's policies and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience in project and programme management or within a PMO.
  • Experience delivering reviews in the Public Services sector.
  • Understanding of relevant frameworks and guidance, including HM Treasury The Green Book and HM Government Functional Standard GovS 002.
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
  • Experience in managing, training, and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive in enhancing expertise and knowledge.
  • Ability to develop new initiatives and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with commercial acumen.
  • Supportive of team development and sharing of experiences.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and delegate effectively.
  • Begin to establish a network of client contacts and connections in the industry.
