Job Summary:

SuperCare Residential is seeking an experienced and adaptable Team Lead to manage operations at one of our residential children's homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading shifts, formulating support plans for young people, and fostering their overall welfare in accordance with the Children Act 1989.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shift Leadership: Lead a team of staff members during shifts, ensuring the smooth operation of the home and providing support to young people as needed.
  • Support Planning: Develop and implement individualized support plans for young people, taking into account their unique needs and goals.
  • Young People's Welfare: Promote the physical, emotional, and social welfare of young people in our care, encouraging them to take responsibility for themselves and act responsibly towards others.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with young people, their social workers, carers, and other relevant agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative tasks related to key working responsibilities, including record-keeping and reporting.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Household Management: Share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the home, including upkeep of the environment and equipment.
  • Financial Management: Be accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes and report any necessary repairs.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the home meets health and safety standards, including regular checks and reporting of any issues.
  • Personal Development: Keep up-to-date with good practice and develop skills, knowledge, and experience in accordance with a personal development plan.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work effectively with young people and staff members, and a commitment to promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in social care or a related field.
