Job Title: Band 7 Specialist Speech Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech Therapist to join our Neonatal therapy team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work with premature infants and their families to support their feeding journey within level 3 and level 2 Neonatal Units.

The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in working with infants and children with feeding and swallowing disorders in an acute or community setting. They will be responsible for performing complex assessments, developing individualized management/treatment programs, and treating their own caseload of specialized and complex patients/clients.

The successful candidate will be well-supported by the Clinical Lead Specialist Neonatal Speech and Language Therapist and will have opportunities for clinical supervision, continuing professional development, and contributing to audit and improvement projects.

As a Band 7 Specialist Speech Therapist, the post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to infants and their families, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive service. They will also be expected to maintain accurate records and contribute to the development of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex medical, physical, and psychological conditions
  • Develop and deliver individualized management/treatment programs
  • Treat their own caseload of specialized and complex patients/clients
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the development of the service

Requirements:

  • Advanced skills in working with infants and children with feeding and swallowing disorders
  • Experience in an acute or community setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
