About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a Band 5 Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to adults with stroke-related impairments and rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessments and treatment plans for clients with communication difficulties resulting from stroke, using advanced verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Undertake assessment and treatment of dysphagia (swallowing difficulty) as an autonomous clinician, with ongoing access to senior Speech and Language Therapist guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide client-focused therapy services, prioritizing patient-centered care and outcomes.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Qualifications in Speech and Language Therapy, including a degree and registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Experience in assessment and treatment of adults in a therapeutic setting, with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
