Job Summary

The client is a leading defence sector company, and this site is one of their major UK facilities, comprising an office block and production facility. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead the site's engineering team to ensure planned and reactive maintenance across the site, working closely with the client's in-house engineering team and specialist subcontractors on niche maintenance works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, motivating and engaging with the site engineering workforce to achieve top-level engineering performance.
  • Monitor site performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with customer expectations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the site, adhering to company processes for site induction, risk assessment, training, safe working practices, accident and near-miss reporting, and investigation.
  • Influence customer relationships to ensure regular contact and service delivery expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Strengthen customer relationships through integrity and honesty, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Assist with the selection, recruitment, and development of engineering staff to build a highly effective and energized operational team with succession plans for key positions.
  • Produce monthly utilities data reports and other documents to meet internal and customer deadlines, working with the site team and energy managers to reduce energy usage and move towards a carbon-neutral position.
  • Ensure CRM and other processes and systems are maintained for existing customers, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth.
  • Administer the semi-comprehensive budget, providing a report for the site to the Account Director and customer, highlighting costs allocated to asset repair or replacement in line with the commercial risk assessment mitigation process.
  • Work with the project and operational teams to maintain a site 10-year asset lifecycle plan, prioritized by condition, and submit updates annually to the customer.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Electrical and/or mechanical qualification.
  • Leadership experience within a supervisory or managerial role.
