Transport Operations Manager

Ideal Recruit Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Transport Operations Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution of the Transport Plan, leading and motivating a small team to deliver General Haulage KPIs, and ensuring customer requirements are exceeded and compliance requirements are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective transport plans to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Lead and motivate a team of transport professionals to achieve operational excellence and exceed customer expectations.
- Manage various data streams to support the operation, including tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including customers, repair agents, and site teams.
- Ensure compliance with company and local statutory obligations, including working time regulations and operator licensing.
- Act as a coach and mentor for direct reports, providing regular 1:1 support and guidance.
- Support the Senior Operations Manager as required and contribute to the development of the transport department.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a transport leadership role, with a strong understanding of General Haulage operations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to produce reports and presentations.
- Full UK driving license and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
