We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Operations Manager to join our team at Ideal Recruit Ltd. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of our Transport Plan, ensuring operational service levels are met and exceeded, and managing various data streams to support the operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement effective transportation strategies to meet customer requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Lead and motivate a small team to deliver General Haulage KPIs, ensuring 100% accuracy and on-time deliveries.
  3. Manage and maintain strong business relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including customers, repair agents, and site teams.
  4. Hold an in-depth understanding of all commercial elements of each customer contract and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  5. Proactively manage attendance and absence levels within your team, adhering to company policy and ensuring compliance with working time regulations.
  6. Manage all ER issues, including disciplinary, grievances, and absence, in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  7. Act as a coach and mentor for your direct reports, providing regular 1:1 support and guidance.
  8. Ensure all transport operations, practices, and procedures are managed in line with the Company's Health & Safety Policy and other statutory requirements.
Requirements:
  1. Currently operating at a similar level within Transport (Essential)
  2. Minimum 3 years experience in leading a team in a Transport Logistics Operations environment (Essential) (5 Years Desirable)
  3. Competent with Microsoft Excel & Word
  4. Ability to produce data and information to identify opportunities and cost saving initiatives
  5. Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills
  6. Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills
  7. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, at all levels
  8. Commercial awareness
  9. Good understanding of EU legislation
  10. Be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of transport operations
  11. Full UK driving licence
