Job Title: Transport Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Supervisor to join our team at Great Bear. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning and utilisation of drivers and sub-contract haulage for deliveries out of multiple warehousing sites.
  • Communicate with the Transport Manager and Transport Planning Teams to maximise backloads and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Act as a point of escalation to deal with queries from customers, sub-contract hauliers, and warehousing sites.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with team members, vendors, hauliers, and partners.
  • Liaise with the GBD traffic and administration teams to ensure high standards of performance are maintained.
  • Report problems and deal with any issues or queries that may arise.
  • Communicate daily with operational teams, vendors, and customers regarding network and route plan changes.
  • Continually improve cost reductions by identifying opportunities for tactical route changes.

Requirements:

  • Previous transport and office experience with a high level of transport knowledge and expertise.
  • Experience of transport policy and strategy development, master planning, and transportation planning systems.
  • CPC National desirable but not essential.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
