Position Overview

Prospero Teaching is seeking skilled Education Professionals to provide individualized instruction to students who are currently not enrolled in traditional educational settings.

Role Responsibilities

As a dedicated Education Professional, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing customized lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of each student and enhance their academic performance. This role is ideal for those looking to transition from conventional teaching environments to offer more focused and engaging educational experiences.

Many of the students you will work with may have experienced disruptions in their education, leading to decreased confidence. Your role will be to re-engage them in the learning process and help restore structure to their daily activities.

We collaborate closely with you to track each student's progress by requesting weekly updates that highlight achievements, challenges, and the subjects covered. Additionally, we ask you to assess engagement levels to ensure that the educational sessions are effective and beneficial for the students.

The students requiring assistance often include those with special educational needs, and sessions may take place in their homes or community settings. A strong background in supporting students with autism, social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as other complex requirements, is essential for this position.

Contract/Position Details:

  • Location - Community or student’s residence
  • Position - Individualized Learning Specialist
  • Type of Work - Contractual
  • Duration - Until the student is ready to transition to a new educational setting
  • Hours - Flexible working hours based on family availability (approximately 15 hours per week, per student)

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • QTS or equivalent certification
  • Demonstrated experience in UK classroom settings
  • Creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs or those who are disengaged
  • Prior tutoring experience is preferred

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Two professional references related to child education.
