The company's sequencing platform is renowned for its real-time analysis capabilities, catering to a wide range of applications from individual to population-level needs. Their technology enables the analysis of native DNA or RNA and sequencing fragments of any length.

The Role

The Technical Product Management department at Oxford Nanopore Technologies is responsible for the creation and launch of new products, including sequencing kits, devices, and software. This role involves software product management, specifically overseeing the analysis software, EPI2ME, a cloud and local analysis solution for Nanopore sequencing data.

The Technical Product Manager will be responsible for Agile sprints, requirements gathering, and communication with developers. They will also collect customer feedback, collaborate with senior product managers and the UX team, and contribute to the product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with UX, product management, and tech support to develop innovative analysis workflows and software solutions
  • Work with senior product managers to develop the product roadmap
  • Manage Agile processes, requirements, troubleshooting, and run scrum ceremonies
  • Gather and translate customer feedback into product requirements
  • Support sales and marketing with product updates
  • Ensure release timelines are met and manage release activities
  • Create updates on product and team progress for internal audiences
  • Possible travel to conferences and events, up to 10%
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, hard science, or computer science preferred
  • Quick learner with a willingness to explore nanopore sequencing
  • 1-2 years of software product management experience in an agile framework
  • Prior experience in the biotechnology industry is a plus
  • Familiarity with DNA sequencing analysis preferred
  • Proficient in Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Effective communicator between teams and customers
  • Adaptable to dynamic environments with shifting priorities
  • Skilled in problem-solving and team management
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and be present at the Oxford office
