As a Young Person's Resilience Worker, you will be a vital part of Change Grow Live, engaging with young individuals through various interventions. Utilizing a youth-centered approach, you will empower our young service users to mitigate risks, enhance resilience, and lead safe, fulfilling, and healthy lives.

Attention to detail is essential, as you will need to document your activities accurately.

Most of your time will be spent interacting with diverse individuals, making a significant impact on their lives. Each day will present new challenges, and we treat every person who accesses our services as unique, so flexibility, curiosity, and strong listening skills are crucial.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Until further funding is secured

Salary: £27, £31, based on experience, pro rata

Responsibilities

About the Role

Join our committed team in a fulfilling role where you will be instrumental in equipping young individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to make informed and safer choices regarding substance use.

As a Young Person's Resilience Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with partner organizations and advocating for access to essential services, such as Youth Justice.
  • Facilitating community outreach events for young people.
  • Delivering educational sessions and group activities.
  • Guiding service users from initial contact through their treatment and recovery journey.
  • Conducting assessments and providing psychosocial interventions.
  • Creating integrated care plans and offering post-treatment support to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Identifying and addressing potential safeguarding concerns.
  • Contributing to the reduction of substance-related harm among young people and the broader community.
  • Encouraging involvement from caregivers, service users, and the community.
  • Working collaboratively with young people to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes, fostering safe and purposeful lives.

About You

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Experience working with young people and a thorough understanding of the challenges they encounter.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues related to children and families, including familiarity with relevant guidelines.
  • A solid understanding of substance use issues, with proven experience in a related field.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices in youth substance misuse treatment.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with young people, adults, and other professionals.
  • A high level of IT proficiency and accuracy in maintaining records.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to supporting colleagues.
  • Experience in delivering group work or a willingness to learn.
