Flying Start Parenting Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Flying Start team in Neath Port Talbot. As a Flying Start Parenting Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting families and promoting positive parenting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of the Flying Start Parenting Lead to deliver parenting support services to families in Neath Port Talbot.
  • Hold a caseload of parents with varying needs, some of whom may require complex support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents, families, and other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide parenting support and guidance to families, including training and coaching on parenting skills and strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Flying Start program in Neath Port Talbot, including identifying and addressing service gaps and needs.

Requirements:

  • A relevant Level 3 qualification or above in a field related to child development or family support.
  • Experience of working with families and children, particularly in a parenting support or early years context.
  • Knowledge of child development and parenting theories and practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a caseload of complex families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with parents, families, and other stakeholders.
