About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Supply Chain Planner to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our supply chain function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Forecasting and Planning: Utilize historical data and market trends to accurately predict product demand and develop effective inventory strategies.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with internal teams to optimize stock levels, minimize shortages, and reduce excess inventory.
  • Supply Chain Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, sales, and procurement teams to align supply chain processes and ensure timely product availability.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Monitor inventory levels, analyze performance metrics, and provide data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Vendor Management: Communicate regularly with suppliers to negotiate terms, manage lead times, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Reporting and Insights: Develop and create reports to provide insights on inventory forecasts, supply chain efficiency, and performance metrics.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
  • Forecasting and Analysis: Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and develop statistical forecast models.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with sales, marketing, and finance teams to understand demand forecast drivers and provide input on inventory strategies.
  • Inventory Strategies: Develop and implement inventory strategies for existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Order Management: Communicate priorities for incoming containers and prepare stock purchase orders.
  • Delivery and Follow-up: Follow up on delivery times and initiate action when changes occur.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2 years' experience in a similar role, with a focus on demand planning and inventory management.
  • Liaising with Suppliers: Experience liaising with offshore suppliers and negotiating terms.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience using an ERP system.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Highly analytical mindset with excellent numerical, data visualization, and reporting skills, as well as excellent communication skills.
  • Autonomy and Organization: Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving and Initiative: Initiative and problem-solving ability, with a results-focused approach.
  • Commercial Awareness: Commercial and retail awareness, with the ability to communicate findings to management.
