About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician Consultant to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to older adults with complex medical needs, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative pathways of care and academic research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care to older adults with peri-operative and surgical liaison medicine needs, as well as general internal medicine and gerontology.
  • Work closely with our surgical liaison service, covering older adult trauma, orthopaedics, and other surgical specialties.
  • Contribute to the general workload of the Department of Clinical Gerontology and the Acute Specialties Medicine Care Group.
  • Play an active role in teaching and training of junior staff, with opportunities for academic research and publication.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC and name on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Registerable medical qualification and full MRCP.
  • Wide experience in all aspects of peri-operative and surgical liaison medicine, and in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine.
  • Experience in day-to-day organisation of Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine services in a busy Teaching Hospital.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams.
