Locum Consultant Physician and Geriatrician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Physician and Geriatrician to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our Older People Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
About the RoleThis is a fixed-term position, supporting our team while we recruit substantively. We welcome applicants with established geriatric experience, as well as those with general medical qualifications and a passion for geriatric medicine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Older People Services and General Internal Medicine, with experience in developing and delivering services in geriatric medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of services in Older People Services and General Internal Medicine.
- Supervise and mentor medical staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Develop and lead education and training initiatives within the department, ensuring staff have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve quality of care, using clinical audit and other quality improvement tools.
- Relevant CCT in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine or equivalent.
- Higher specialist training in Older People Services and General Internal Medicine.
- Broad experience in Older People Services and General Internal Medicine, with a strong background in geriatric medicine.
- Detailed knowledge of Older People Services and General Internal Medicine, including the specialist skills required for this post.
- Ability to teach medical students and junior medical and nursing staff.
