Job Title: Senior Governance Officer

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Hybrid working - Primarily home-based with some attendance required in the office

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Governance Officer to join our team at AWD online. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting and managing governance processes at Board level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agenda Management: Manage the annual meeting cycle, plan agendas, and ensure accurate documentation of meetings.
  • Governance Processes: Oversee the development and maintenance of governance processes, including the Scheme of Delegation, Trustee recruitment, and policy reviews.
  • Training and Induction: Provide training and induction for Trustees and SSC Members, and support the Trust's internal scrutiny and compliance functions.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with external organizations, senior colleagues, and Trustees.

Requirements:

  • Previous senior level experience of supporting/managing governance processes at Board level within a Multi Academy Trust or broader Education Sector.
  • Senior level experience of agenda management and preparing high-quality supporting reports and minutes.
  • Proven successful track record of relationship management with external organizations, senior colleagues, and Trustees.
  • Excellent communication and mediation skills.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
