About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive Outreach Team as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist. The successful candidate will work closely with the clinical lead OT to develop and implement occupational therapy pathways within the team, and will have opportunities to develop leadership skills through the supervision, coaching, and mentoring of band 5 staff and therapy support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver interventions to enable individuals to participate in recovery-based community activities, engage in treatment, and live successfully in their own homes or supported accommodation.
  • Hold a small caseload of service users with complex mental health difficulties and work alongside a full multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to develop activity programmes and facilitate psycho-social and psycho-educational workshops.
  • Develop service user-led, occupationally focused recovery plans and empower individuals in their recovery journey.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, demonstrate competent risk assessment and risk management skills, and have a genuine interest in working with service users with severe and enduring mental health issues and their carers.
Requirements
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with post-registration experience in mental health.
  • Understanding of the responsibilities and experience with SMI, MOHOST assessment, and community experience.
