About the Role

Morgan Hunt is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Support Worker to join our team at an award-winning charity and social enterprise. As a Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to young people in our 24-hour accommodation service in Macclesfield.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and Guidance: Work with young people to improve their quality of life, develop their skills, and make decisions about their future.
  • Keyworker Role: Act as a keyworker to a group of young people, taking lead responsibility for coordinating and delivering their support.
  • Practical and Emotional Support: Provide general practical and emotional support to young people to promote their independence and/or recovery.
  • Challenging Behaviour: Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour to promote the well-being of young people and staff.
  • Supportive Service: Provide an effective and responsive supportive service to young people.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with referral teams and agencies regarding vacancies and referrals.
  • Staff Team Collaboration: Participate in the staff team's provision of individual support and needs assessment, including risk assessment, advice, emotional support, and practical assistance.
  • Housing and Support Needs: Participate in assessing and reviewing future housing and support needs, and in identifying and co-ordinating internal and external services and referrals in response to these.
  • Record Keeping: Keep appropriate records of interventions with young people and inform other staff of relevant issues.
  • Resettlement Options: Facilitate regular consultation and action to enable young people to make decisions concerning their resettlement options with a view to independent living.
  • Appointments and Support: Assist in arranging appointments with relevant professionals, such as Social Workers, PA's, Probation Officers, and Medical Staff.
  • Personal Budgeting and Benefits: Provide advice and assistance to young people on personal budgeting, debt management, and claims for welfare benefits.
  • Service Development: Encourage young people to be involved in the development and operation of the service, facilitating appropriate consultation and participation.
  • On-Call Support: If required, participate in on-call to ensure adequate cover is maintained for service delivery, where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in a social care field.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience: At least one year's professional experience of working with vulnerable adults, or relevant personal experience, or at least three years' experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting.
  • People Focus: A strong people focus, and a creative and innovative approach to working with young people.
  • Commitment to Empowerment: A commitment to people's involvement and empowerment.
