The Director of Clinical Physics Services is instrumental in enhancing, refining, and delivering high-quality services throughout our healthcare organization, collaborating with various system partners. The successful applicant will be a vital member of the senior leadership team within the Clinical Services Division, working in close partnership with the divisional leadership to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient provision of services across multiple domains:
- Radiation Safety Management
- Radiotherapy Physics Oversight
- Nuclear Medicine Physics Coordination
- Clinical Engineering Leadership
- Medical Equipment Engineering
- MRI Physics & Vascular Clinical Research
Main Responsibilities
The Director of Clinical Physics Services will provide strategic operational guidance for the identified services within the Clinical Services Division across our network of hospitals. This role involves establishing robust systems and processes that empower staff to deliver exceptional clinical care, uphold effective governance, and advance the service improvement agenda to achieve operational efficiencies and enhance the effectiveness of clinical services. The Director will lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of healthcare scientists in executing the objectives and priorities established with the Clinical Director and Divisional Director of Operations across the following key areas:
- Leadership: Fostering a culture of governance, learning, and innovation
- Responsiveness: Ensuring services are organized to meet patient needs
- Safety: Safeguarding staff and patients from harm
- Effectiveness: Achieving optimal patient outcomes through care and support
- Caring: Delivering compassionate, respectful, and dignified patient care
The post holder will be accountable for the overall performance of the team and services, ensuring alignment with national and local healthcare priorities, maintaining clinical quality, ensuring patient safety, adhering to regulatory standards, and enhancing patient experience.
