Location: West Yorkshire
Compensation: Approximately £35,000 based on experience
Employment Type: Full-time
Are you a dynamic, imaginative, and detail-oriented professional with a flair for event coordination and team leadership?
We are seeking a skilled Event Operations Manager to lead our event coordination efforts, encompassing both internal and external gatherings.
Your role will involve crafting, executing, and sustaining sales initiatives aimed at optimizing revenue objectives while fostering innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage event coordination activities (including catering expenses, billing details, schedules, venue arrangements, entertainment, audiovisual needs, etc.)
- Attract business through a multi-faceted approach, including cold outreach, social media engagement, email communication, in-person interactions, and participation in networking functions
- Create proposals for clients with the goal of converting inquiries into confirmed bookings
- Oversee daily operations of the café/restaurant and events team
- Plan, organize, and execute events within budgetary and time constraints
- Develop and implement an events calendar, social media strategy, and business plans
- Manage team schedules and payroll
- Establish strong relationships with vendors and negotiate terms effectively
- Regularly meet and collaborate with clients
- Supervise all event processes from inquiry to invoicing
- Monitor event expenditures
- Oversee event preparations
- Evaluate event outcomes
- Handle invoicing for vendors and clients
- Comply with food, health, and safety regulations
- Ensure outstanding customer service and address customer concerns with patience
- Manage daily cash transactions for the outlets
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience as an Event Operations Manager or in a comparable role
- Ability to think innovatively and generate new concepts to enhance business growth and profitability
- Demonstrated capability to lead and motivate a team
- Portfolio showcasing successful events
- Strong sense of ownership and pride in your contributions and their impact on the organization’s success
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative team player with effective time-management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A degree in hospitality management, public relations, or a related field is preferred
