About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team at Croydon Council. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of a strategic procurement service, focusing on critical procurements with high value, risk, and complexity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Deliver Procurement Solutions: Develop and implement procurement strategies that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organization, while improving outcomes for our residents.
  • Provide Commercial Input: Offer commercial expertise in the development of medium to high-risk/complex business cases, providing research, data, and analysis of market viability.
  • Lead Tender Process: Oversee the end-to-end tender process for assigned procurements, ensuring full compliance with standards and practices for tendering.
  • Support Procurement Processes: Promote the compliant use of procurement and purchasing (P2P) processes & systems for assigned areas.
  • Make Recommendations: Provide recommendations based on early engagement with suppliers, stakeholders, and lessons learned from other relevant contracts.
Requirements
  • MCIPS Qualification: Working towards or holding a MCIPS qualification is essential.
  • Public Procurement Legislation: Up-to-date knowledge of current and prospective public procurement legislation is required.
  • Procurement Systems: Ability to use procurement systems and support the tender process.
