Position Title: Senior Police Operations Manager

The Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police is seeking exceptional, resilient individuals for the role of Senior Police Operations Manager. This position is ideal for high-performing professionals currently serving as Chief Inspectors who are ready to advance their careers.

Recognized as the 'most improved force in the country' following a recent inspection, the successful candidates will play a pivotal role in our ongoing journey of enhancement. They will contribute significantly to shaping the future of our organization, leveraging existing strengths to minimize demand, enhance performance, and achieve positive results.


The ideal candidates will possess the utmost credibility and will:

  • Exhibit inspirational leadership, capable of managing a variety of complex scenarios.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive operational background with proven success in operational execution.
  • Effectively engage with officers, staff, and key stakeholders at all levels to ensure the delivery of high-quality policing services.
  • Show substantial evidence of their capability to drive, enhance, and deliver performance outcomes at a strategic level.
  • Be innovative and resourceful, with experience in implementing successful large-scale transformations.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment and passion for serving the public of Greater Manchester.

Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold the rank of Superintendent or possess relevant experience as a Chief Inspector, with endorsement from your line manager and Chief Superintendent.
  • Maintain an active Personal Development Review (PDR) or equivalent.
  • Have no active written improvement notices under the Police (Performance) Regulations.
  • Have no active written warnings or final warnings under Police (Conduct) Regulations.
  • Successfully pass the necessary vetting and medical assessments prior to appointment.
