Police Sergeant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Sergeant to join our team at Greater Manchester Police. As a Police Sergeant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities.

• Supervise a team of police officers, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to handle a wide range of policing tasks.
• Monitor and manage the performance of the team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance performance.
• Provide advice and guidance to team members on policing policies and procedures, ensuring that responses are delivered in accordance with best practices.
• Contribute to the development of community policing strategies, working with local partners to identify and address community needs.

• Must have the support of their Chief Inspector or Police Staff equivalent.
• Must have a current pass in the Sergeant's Legal Knowledge Exam or OSPRE Part 1 & 2 Exams.
• Must have a good record of attendance and meet force targets.
• Must not be subject to any written improvement notices or final written warnings.
• Must be in an active PDR cycle.
• Must have completed their Readiness for Promotion record (GMP Officers only).
• Must have attended, or be booked onto, the Personal Leadership Training Module (GMP Officers only).
