Key Responsibilities You will deliver daily clinical services in a supportive environment as part of a dynamic team. By providing professional leadership, you will ensure that patient needs are central to care delivery, while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice in your designated area.

Job Responsibilities Collaborate with a team of Podiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, high-quality care for all patients. Supervise and delegate podiatry services provided by support staff, including junior clinicians and Podiatry Assistants, while mentoring students during their placements. Participate in clinical rotations within the podiatry service as needed for personal development and service requirements. Refer to Highly Specialist Clinicians when necessary. Adapt to a busy and varied workload, which may require travel between clinics. Manage a domiciliary caseload as required.

Person Specification Education/Qualification Essential
  • BSc Degree in Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior to 1991)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional and personal development
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Certificate in local anaesthesia
Desirable
  • Evidence of postgraduate training in a specialized area of podiatry
Experience Essential
  • Postgraduate clinical experience in multidisciplinary and interagency settings
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations and various pathologies, including at-risk and high-risk foot conditions
  • Experience as part of a specialist team (clinical rotation experience accepted)
Desirable
  • Experience in an NHS environment
  • Experience in clinical supervision and mentoring
  • Experience in service development
Skills and Knowledge Essential
  • Knowledge of recent advancements in the field
  • Comprehensive understanding of podiatric theory and practice
  • Knowledge of foot orthotic design and manufacturing
  • Familiarity with the Code of Conduct

  • Knowledge of treatment options for managing high-risk tissue breakdown
  • Up-to-date knowledge of clinical issues and treatment advancements

  • Competence in using diagnostic tools and surgical instruments for intricate procedures
