We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Retina Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care to patients with eye-related disorders and conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake a holistic assessment of ophthalmic patients, interpreting investigations to arrive at a diagnosis and implementing a management plan.
- Work cross-sites at the Trust in the delivery of Medical Retina care, providing highly visible clinical presence and expert knowledge.
- Accountable for episodes of care for patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of clinical care.
- Contribute to practice development through audit and development of clinical guidelines/procedures and policy.
- Support the professional development of others through supervision, assessment, and coaching.
- Professional Registration (GOC, NMC, HCPC)
- Evidence of post-registration CPD/Post-registration qualification (ENB 346 or equivalent)
- Significant experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent as an Optometrist/Orthoptist/Registered Nurse within a background in treating patients with eye-related disorders and conditions
- Experience and enthusiasm for developing educational programs and teaching/assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting
