**Exciting Opportunity for a Medical Retina and Uveitis Specialist**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Retina and Uveitis Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our medical retina and uveitis services.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Establish and maintain a busy medical retinal and uveitis service, including outpatient clinics and in-patient care
  • Perform regular local anaesthetic cataract surgery and manage the ophthalmic care of hospital in-patients
  • Contribute to the development of our medical retina and uveitis services, including the establishment of new clinics and services
  • Participate in all aspects of clinical governance, including quality and effectiveness of care
  • Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the department

**Requirements:**

  • Minimum of eight years since obtaining a primary medical qualification
  • Fellowship in Medical Retina and/or Uveitis
  • In-depth knowledge of Medical retinal and ocular inflammatory conditions
  • Extensive experience of general ophthalmology and medical management of patients with Medical retina and inflammatory eye conditions
  • Ability to operate independently for phacoemulsification cataract surgery
  • Full GMC Registration on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of completion of training
