Position Overview:

The role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller is available within a dynamic and forward-thinking environmental consultancy. This position offers an attractive salary range of £35k to £45k.

About the Company:

Our consultancy is recognized for its commitment to providing a comprehensive suite of technical services across multiple locations. We pride ourselves on fostering an environment that encourages professional growth and diverse experiences.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a relevant environmental or engineering field and have substantial experience in hydrology, flood risk assessment, hydraulic modelling, and river engineering. Experience with both private and public sector projects is preferred. Additionally, candidates should be pursuing or have obtained a professional qualification from CIWEM or ICE.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with technical experts and project leaders to deliver modelling projects that meet budgetary, scheduling, technical, and quality requirements.
- Manage and oversee multiple modelling projects, ranging from small to large scale.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior modelling staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Essential Skills:

- Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling using software such as Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW, or HECRAS, along with MapInfo and ArcGIS.
- Capability to conduct hydrological assessments utilizing tools like the Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2, and WINFAP.
- Experience in producing and reviewing detailed hydrological assessments, hydraulic modelling reports, and Flood Risk Assessment documentation.
- Contribute to the development of fee proposals.
