Emergency Services Receptionist/Administrator (Band 3)

Are you seeking a rewarding opportunity in a dynamic environment?

We are on the lookout for adaptable and motivated part-time team members to enhance our supportive staff. We are interested in candidates who can commit to a minimum of 15 hours weekly. The ideal candidate will be prepared to manage various shifts throughout a 24-hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year schedule.

Current shift timings include - 07:00 to 17:00, 08:00 to 18:00, 08:00 to 16:00, 16:00 to 00:00, 17:00 to 22:00, 18:00 to 23:00, 22:00 to 06:00, and 23:00 to 07:30.

Weekend, night, and holiday shifts are integral to our continuous operation within our bustling Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre.

This role presents an exciting chance to contribute to essential care in our community.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties of the Role

Primary responsibilities include:

Patient registration Handling telephone inquiries Patient discharge processing Scheduling appointments for the Fracture clinic, managing queries from patients and their families Assisting in our GP hub Facilitating patient bookings in our SDEC, follow-ups, and clinic registrations

Role Specifications

Qualifications & Education

Essential

GCSE or equivalent in English Grade C or above

Desirable

NVQ level 2 in Business Administration or Customer Care ECDL certification

Experience

Background in reception or customer service roles Familiarity with patient administration tasks in a healthcare environment

Previous experience in an Emergency Department or healthcare setting

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, especially in challenging situations Proficient written communication skills
