Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive clinical services to patients, adhering to the GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical Practice.'
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Undertake duties as defined within the attached job plan, in agreement with your Clinical Director.
- Be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of Trust resources.
- Participate in the Trust's Statutory & Mandatory training programme.
- Be responsible for the Clinical Management of in and out patients under your care.
The Emergency Medicine service is part of the Medicine Division, which includes acute medical assessment hubs, Ambulatory care units, medical wards, and specialty outpatients. We are currently developing a combined Same Day Emergency Care service and are one of the pilot sites for NHS 111 direct booking and streaming.
Person Specification- Hold a medical qualification or qualification registered with the GMC.
- Entry onto the Specialist Register for GMC or be within six months of obtaining CCT.
- Appropriate higher medical qualification MRCP/MRCS or equivalent.
- ALS, ATLS, and APLS/EPLS provider status.
- MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research.
- FCEM.
- Instructor status in ALS, ATLS, and/or APLS/EPLS.
- Sub-specialist interest in an area related to Emergency Medicine.
- Audit/Research.
- Has attended a recognised management training event or will have such training on completion of CCT.
- Supervision of postgraduate trainees.
- Personal time management skills.
- Clinical Governance.
- Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
- Ability to teach clinical skills.
- Commitment to teach doctors in training, therapy staff, nurses, and medical students.
- Ability to contribute to change management.
- Ability to apply research findings to clinical problems.
- Ability to critically review research.
- Commitment to evidence-based medicine.
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to the appropriate standard necessary to fulfil the job requirements.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work in partnership to deliver a patient-centred service.
- Demonstrate an understanding and willingness to embrace user involvement.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities to local, regional, or national levels.
