Postdoctoral Research Associate in Space Reactor Fuel Development

Job Summary
Bangor University is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join its Nuclear Futures Institute (NFI) team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of novel fuels for space power applications, working closely with the principal investigator and external partners.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and analyse experimental studies related to novel fuel manufacture and assessment.
- Develop safety-related protocols and gather and analyse data.
- Liaise with external and internal partners to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- Contribute to the dissemination of research outputs through scientific, technical, and public press, and conferences.
- Support the principal investigator in developing new techniques and collaborating with co-researchers.
Requirements
- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a similar engineering discipline.
- Experimental experience in material manufacture, particularly related to composite ceramic/metallic (CERMET) materials.
- Good verbal and written skills, analytical skills, and ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
