Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Taylor & Francis Group. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, managing a team of accounting professionals, and ensuring the integrity of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Financial Systems: Ensure the integrity of our financial systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide recommendations to management to improve financial performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including tax laws, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience of leading an R2R team within a large R2R function.
  • Skills: Excellent knowledge and understanding of all R2R processes, including best practice in R2R, people, processes, and technology. Sound working knowledge and understanding of SSO processes and how these fit into the wider environment.
  • Experience: Confident in how to lead and guide a team through challenging periods. Be able to manage competing priorities and achieving deadlines, whilst delivering a high standard of work and supporting the team as and when needed.
  • Personal Qualities: Solid at building relationships with stakeholders within and outside of the organisation. Evidence of making decisions at the right time based on the information available. Strong people manager who actively engages and embraces talent management conversations.
