Job Title: Group Sales and Marketing Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Sales and Marketing Manager to join our team at Gainford Group.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales into our hotel and leisure venues, developing and implementing strategies to promote our offers to key markets, and managing sales and bookings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create a unique experience for our guests in line with our brand.
  2. Work with our managers to plan and implement a sales plan for the hire of spaces, working to clear targets.
  3. Manage sales and bookings, deal with inquiries, follow up with potential clients, meet clients, and promote offers.
  4. Ensure effective systems for bookings and invoicing are in place, reviewing and updating processes as required, to ensure the highest level of customer care is given.
  5. Manage and record data of new clients.
  6. Determine rates and prepare proposals to meet and exceed the client's expectations.
  7. Capture the client's vision and effectively convey and deliver this.
  8. Nurture and build relations with current and potential clients, conference agencies, and corporate/private supporters.
  9. Maximise turnover and profit working to grow the business.
  10. Identify new markets and business opportunities in the local/national market through research.
  11. Proactively solicit new accounts for our hotels and leisure venues by sales calls, social media, and attending/hosting events.
  12. Collaborate with the team to develop and implement plans effective for enhancing sales and overall company performance.
  13. Research to gather information regarding the market, trends, potential sales leads, and opportunities, compile and analyze.
  14. Report any new market intelligence to competitor's strengths/weaknesses.
  15. Ensure the provision of proper aftercare sales support and service to clients.
  16. Organise/be actively involved in sales meetings to discuss activities and plans.
  17. Connect with people in a meaningful way, continually innovating to expand the reach with key corporate, business, and community organisations.
  18. Host and entertain clients.
  19. Conduct show rounds, fam trips as necessary.
  20. Be aware of company and hotel policies.
  21. Have full product knowledge of the facilities offered at our hotels and leisure venues.
  22. Cross-sell all the estate maximising all revenue streams in all areas utilising all areas.
  23. Manage the sales office overseeing staff ensuring they are delivering on a day-to-day basis.
  24. Ensure that there are appropriate professional standards of behavior in the department.
  25. Promote teamwork within the department and with other departments.
  26. Assist in other departments during emergencies or as deemed necessary Area Managers.
  27. Ensure that you create a professional impression on customers and team members.
  28. To act on customer feedback relevant to your areas of responsibility. This includes customer complaints and compliments.
  29. To assist with maintaining and improving departmental operating standards.
  30. To keep all department team member's sales focused.
