Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team at A&S Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a robust health and safety culture across our sites in Suffolk and Essex.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop health and safety representatives on sites.
- Provide health and safety support, guidance, and advice to sites, ensuring consistency with other UK sites.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company management systems.
- Manage the company's health and safety performance measurement and reporting system, analyzing results to identify improvement opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with current health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to our Group of Companies and advise senior management accordingly.
- Review and update risk assessments and safe systems of work as needed.
- Assist with the delivery of internal training and support the implementation of training plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
- Ensure accurate reporting of injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences in line with statutory requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with health and safety managers across the company to share best practices.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills to explain health and safety processes to various audiences.
- Experience in warehousing, transport, or logistics is essential.
- Patience and diplomacy are required to work collaboratively with staff at all levels.
- Ability to analyze complex information and present it clearly and accurately.
- IT skills and attention to detail are necessary.
- A flexible approach to work and an interest in health and safety legislation are required.
- A full driving license is essential.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 per year
