Key Responsibilities

  • Experiment and Innovate: You will lead the complete model development lifecycle, advocating for best practices to ensure reproducible research and efficient software delivery.

Qualifications

You are well-suited for the role of Senior Applied Scientist focusing on NLP and Information Retrieval if you possess:

  • A PhD in a relevant field or a Master’s degree with equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in developing NLP/IR/ML systems, from conception to deployment.
  • Strong software engineering capabilities for prototyping.
  • Proven experience as a technical leader, adept at translating complex business challenges into projects with clear scopes, while coordinating and guiding the efforts of others.
  • At least 8 years of practical experience in building IR, ML, or NLP systems in either academic or industrial settings.
  • A demonstrated ability to convert cutting-edge research into functional prototypes and experience in experimenting with novel IR or NLP models to address real-world challenges.
  • Experience in dynamic, agile environments where managing uncertainty and ambiguity is essential.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a data-driven approach to collaboration with Product and Business Stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, along with experience in delivering minimum viable products in large enterprise contexts.
  • Publications in esteemed venues such as ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGIR, KDD, or similar.
