About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PV Engineer to join our team at ib vogt GmbH. As a Senior PV Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of large-scale solar power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess site topography and potential constraints to determine the feasibility of green field development projects.
  • Prepare and review design specifications and engineering design packages for large-scale PV projects.
  • Review and evaluate tender documents and technical requirements.
  • Prepare and review single line diagrams up to MV and coordinate with the grid team to ensure HV specifications match the HV single line diagram.
  • Evaluate climate data sources and prepare energy yield simulations to provide key project performance indicators for commercial project optimization.
  • Lead or participate in site visits to identify buildable areas, optimize layout design, and prepare site assessment reports.
  • Lead or participate in technical discussions and negotiations with third-party technical advisors and consultants for Technical Due Diligence of PV projects.
Requirements
  • Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energies, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of PV system design, IEC codes, and specifications according to project/country-specific requirements.
  • Good understanding of techno-economic aspects of solar projects and the latest market developments.
  • Hands-on experience in solar power plant design, preferably in utility-scale projects, with at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy projects in the UK and ideally a minimum of 5 years in solar PV projects, BESS, and ideally Floating and AgriPV.
  • Sound design knowledge in areas of solar plant layouts, civil design, SLD, MV, and HV equipment, Power Transmission, System loss calculation, and general electrical requirements of large-scale solar power plants.
  • In-depth knowledge of modules, inverters, cables, transformers, MV switchgears, relays, and industry best practices.
  • Software skills: Mandatory – AutoCAD, PVSyst, (PVCase or Helios 3D), and MS office; Desired – QGIS or ArcGIS.
  • Language: Business Fluent/Native English, other language a plus.
  • Pro-active team player with high degree of self-management and problem-solving ability.
