Position Overview

As an Experienced Family Support Specialist, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team dedicated to assisting children, young individuals, and their families across various environments.

Team Structure

Join our Regionwide Team where you will collaborate closely with service users and professionals from different organizations.

Role Responsibilities

  • Engage with children and families to provide essential support.
  • Conduct assessments of referrals, including those related to child protection.
  • Assist social workers during the assessment process, accompanying them on visits.
  • Provide ongoing support to colleagues and families.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Direct experience working with children and young people.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail in record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of Council Information systems, such as Mosaic, is advantageous.
  • SVQ Level 3/ K Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.

Personal Attributes

You should be energetic, adaptable, and capable of responding swiftly to changing situations. Your initiative and experience in related fields will be vital in delivering effective services.

Training and Support

Comprehensive induction training will be provided, along with regular supervision, support, and team meetings to foster professional development.

Driving Requirement

A valid driving license is essential for this position. However, considerations will be made for candidates with disabilities that prevent them from holding a license, provided alternative transport arrangements can be made.

Regulatory Compliance

This role is classified as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults under relevant legislation. Candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to receiving a formal employment offer.

International Candidates

Applicants who have resided outside the UK in the past five years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in those countries, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
